Omar D'León, a Nicaraguan poet and painter, founded the museum Museo-Galeria 904, which was vandalized and robbed after being partly destroyed in the 1972 Nicaragua earthquake. Today, D'León's paintings are preserved in museums such as the Art Museum of the Americas, Ponce Museum of Art, and the José Luis Cuevas Museum.
