(New Zealand Middle-Distance Runner and Olympic Gold Medalist) Peter Snell was a New Zealand athlete who specialized in middle-distance running. He won three gold medals at the Olympic Games and is the only man to have won the 1500 and 800 metres at the same Olympics since 1920. In 2012, Peter Snell was inducted into the International Association of Athletics Federations Hall of Fame.
