Kieran Read, a retired professional rugby player from New Zealand, is renowned for his position as a number 8 and former captain of the national team, the All Blacks. Throughout his career which spanned from 2008 to 2019, Read established himself as one of the most-capped players in history, featuring in 127 tests and scoring 26 international tries. He led New Zealand as captain on 52 occasions and earned the prestigious title of IRB Player of the Year in 2013. Read played a pivotal role in New Zealand's triumphs at the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups, in addition to representing Crusaders in Super Rugby and Canterbury and Counties Manukau in the Mitre 10 Cup.
