Anuradha Koirala is a celebrated social activist in Nepal who founded Maiti Nepal, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims of sex trafficking. Before her involvement with Maiti Nepal, she worked as an English teacher in Kathmandu for 20 years. Through Maiti Nepal, Koirala has rescued and rehabilitated over 50,000 women and girls, providing rehabilitation homes, transit homes, and preventative homes. Her contributions have earned her accolades such as the CNN Hero of the Year and the Courage of Conscience Award. Koirala is commonly known as the "Mother Teresa" of Nepal due to her significant humanitarian efforts.
