(Conservationist) Bayarjargal Agvaantseren is a Mongolian conservationist dedicated to protecting the snow leopard habitat in the South Gobi Desert. She transitioned from a language teacher and translator to a program manager for Snow Leopard Enterprises, eventually becoming the Mongolia Programme Director for the Snow Leopard Trust. Agvaantseren founded the Snow Leopard Conservation Foundation to support rural women and raise awareness for snow leopard conservation. Through her political initiatives and community mobilization, she successfully established the Tost Tosonbumba Nature Reserve and canceled mining licenses in the region, earning her the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize in 2019.
