Yesugen was one of the wives of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongol Empire. Despite not wielding the same power or influence as his first wife, Börte, Yesugen had her own ordo, or court. She was assigned the Khangai Mountains as territory. Yesugen gave birth to at least one child for Genghis Khan, a son named Cha'ur. However, Cha'ur did not survive into adulthood. Yesugen's professional life revolved around her role as a wife of Genghis Khan and managing her own ordo within the Mongol Empire.
