Töregene Khatun assumed the role of Great Khatun and regent of the Mongol Empire after the passing of her husband, Ögedei Khan, in 1241. Throughout her regency until 1246, she was pivotal in governing the empire and handling political matters. Töregene Khatun played a key role in upholding stability and consistency in Mongol leadership while overseeing the administration of the vast empire. Her leadership and diplomatic acumen were apparent in her efforts to steer the empire through this period of transition.
