Demchugdongrub was a Qing dynasty Chinese Mongol prince who spearheaded an independence movement in Inner Mongolia during the 20th century. He held the position of chairman in the pro-Japanese Mongol Military Government and subsequently led the puppet state of Mengjiang throughout the Second Sino-Japanese War. His career was characterized by his efforts to advance Mongol nationalism and advocate for Pan-Mongolism. Despite this, he faces criticism for being viewed as a traitor and a Japanese puppet during World War II.
