Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal

Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal was a Mongolian politician who held various leadership positions in the Mongolian People's Republic. He served as General Secretary of the ruling party, Chairman of the Council of Ministers, and Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Great Khural. Rising to prominence in the 1940s, he succeeded his predecessor as premier in 1952. Tsedenbal resisted de-Stalinization, maintained close ties with the Soviet Union, and had the longest leadership tenure in modern Mongolia and the Eastern Bloc until his expulsion in 1984.
