Louis I, Prince of Monaco

Louis I of Monaco became Prince of Monaco in 1662 after his grandfather. He showed his military skills in the Four Days' Battle in 1666 and pledged loyalty to King Louis XIV of France in 1668. In 1688, he was honored as a knight of the French royal orders. Louis served as an ambassador to Rome in 1699, presenting prestigious insignia to the King of Poland's sons. He passed away in Rome in 1701, and his remains were brought back to Monaco.
