(Prime Minister) Branko Crvenkovski is a prominent Macedonian politician who has held key leadership positions in the country. He served as the 3rd President of Macedonia from 2004 to 2009, following terms as Prime Minister from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2002 to 2004. Crvenkovski, a former member of the League of Communists of Macedonia, established the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia in 1991, which later became the legal successor of the SKM. He has also led the SDSM on two separate occasions.
