Musa al-Sadr

Musa al-Sadr was a prominent Iranian-Lebanese Shia Muslim cleric and politician who founded and reinvigorated various Shia organizations in Lebanon. He received education in both religious and secular fields in Iran and continued his theological studies in Najaf. Sadr later journeyed to Tyre, Lebanon as an emissary, where he published the periodical Maktabi Islam. He significantly influenced contemporary Shi'i political ideologies and actions, fostering unity and identity within Lebanon's Shia community.
