Gundars Vētra is a retired professional basketball player and current coach hailing from Latvia. He excelled as a shooting guard and small forward, standing at 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 meters). Vētra achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Latvian to play in the NBA, where he represented the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 1992–1993 season, participating in 13 games. Following his playing career, Vētra seamlessly transitioned into coaching, leveraging his extensive on-court experience to mentor and develop the next wave of basketball talent.
