Jānis Lidmanis

Jānis Lidmanis was a talented athlete who excelled in both football and basketball. He played a key role for the Latvia national football team in the 1930s, serving as captain and making 55 appearances. Lidmanis showcased his skills as a midfielder and was known for his expertise in taking corner-kicks while playing for the top Riga club, Rīgas FK. Additionally, he represented Latvia in EuroBasket 1935. After relocating to Germany in 1944, Lidmanis eventually settled in Australia, where he remained active in sports until his passing in 1986.
