(Kenyan Middle and Long Distance Athlete) Moses Kiptanui, a Kenyan athlete, is renowned for his exceptional performance in the 3000m steeplechase event, where he broke the world record by becoming the first person to run the distance in under eight minutes. Throughout his career, Kiptanui secured three IAAF World Championships in Athletics titles and set numerous world records. Following his retirement from competing, he shifted his focus to coaching and made a significant impact in mentoring athletes, such as the 2004 Olympic gold medalist Ezekiel Kemboi. Additionally, Kiptanui held the position of chairman at the Marakwet District branch of Athletics Kenya.
