(Prime Minister) Marouf al-Bakhit was a Jordanian politician who served as Prime Minister of Jordan twice, from November 2005 to November 2007 and again from February 2011 to October 2011. In addition to his role as Prime Minister, al-Bakhit also served as the Jordanian ambassador to Israel and the national security chief. He was known for his focus on maintaining security and stability in Jordan, and was appointed Prime Minister in response to significant events such as the 2005 Amman bombings and widespread protests in 2011.
