Princess Haya bint Hussein is the daughter of King Hussein of Jordan and his third wife, Queen Alia, and is the sixth wife of the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. She is a former Olympic athlete in show jumping, a humanitarian, and a UN Messenger of Peace. An accomplished equestrian, who had represented Jordan in the 2000 Summer Olympics, later became a member of the International Olympic Committee. She was also the President of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) for the first two terms. She is the founder of the first Arab NGO 'Tkiyet Um Ali', and has contributed to several other charitable initiatives. She was the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme in 2005-07.
