Yamamotoyama Ryūta, a retired sumo wrestler from Saitama, Japan, made his professional debut in January 2007, rising to the top makuuchi division by January 2009. At 265 kg, he holds the record as the heaviest Japanese-born sumo wrestler and is considered one of the heaviest Japanese individuals. Following involvement in match-fixing, he was required to retire in April 2011. Despite this setback, he remains active in sumo exhibitions and amateur tournaments, as well as making appearances in various media platforms.
