Marco Simoncelli, also known as Sic, was a celebrated Italian motorcycle racer who participated in the MotoGP World Championship for ten years. He began in the 125cc class, progressed to the 250cc class, where he won the 2008 250cc World Championship, and then moved on to the MotoGP class in 2010 with the Honda Gresini Team. Tragically, his promising career was abruptly ended by a fatal racing accident at the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix.
