Natan Sharansky

Natan Sharansky is known as an Israeli politician, human rights activist, and author. He held the position of Chairman of the Executive for the Jewish Agency from June 2009 to August 2018. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), an American non-partisan organization. Sharansky, a former Soviet dissident, endured nine years of imprisonment as a refusenik during the 1970s and 1980s. He has since become a prominent advocate for human rights and a leading voice in the global fight against antisemitism.
