Dominique McElligott is an Irish actor, best known for playing key roles in series such as ‘The Astronaut Wives Club’ and ‘House of Cards.’ She primarily appears in independent films. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Dominique wanted to become an actor ever since she was a kid but was not serious about it initially. It was during her high-school years that she started doing theatrical plays for fun and developed an interest in acting as a career option. In 2001, she made her acting debut, starring in an Irish series titled ‘On Home Ground,’ which featured her as ‘Cora Collins.’ She made her film debut with the 2008 horror film ‘Dark Floors.’ She then appeared in key roles in films such as ‘The Guard,’ ‘Blackthorn,’ and ‘Not Fade Away.’ Although most of her films have been low-budget independent films, she has had more success on TV. After making her TV breakthrough in 2008, with a supporting role in ‘Raw,’ she was cast as a main character in the series ‘Hell on Wheels.’ More recently, she has worked in key roles in a number of popular series, such as ‘House of Cards,’ ‘The Boys,’ and ‘The Last Tycoon.’
