Stephen Roche, an Irish former professional road racing cyclist, attained peak success in 1987 by winning the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia general classification, and World road race championship, known as the Triple Crown. Despite his admired pedalling style, Roche faced challenges with knee injuries and experienced a decline in performance in Grand Tours after 1987. Throughout his professional career, he earned a total of 58 wins, although there were allegations of EPO usage in his later years.
