Sean Kelly, an Irish former professional road bicycle racer, enjoyed significant success in the 1980s. Throughout his career, he won a total of 193 professional races, which included nine Monument Classics. Notably, Kelly achieved a record seven consecutive victories in the Paris–Nice race and was the first winner of the UCI Road World Cup in 1989. He also claimed the top spot in the 1988 Vuelta a España and earned four green jerseys in the Tour de France. Kelly was renowned for his triumphs in races such as the Giro di Lombardia, Milan–San Remo, and Paris–Roubaix.
