Ibrahim al-Jaafari is an Iraqi politician who has served in various high-ranking government roles. He was Prime Minister of Iraq in the Iraqi Transitional Government from 2005 to 2006 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2018. He also held the position of Vice President of Iraq under the Iraqi Interim Government from 2004 to 2005. Al-Jaafari is associated with the Islamic Dawa Party and withdrew his nomination for premiership in the permanent government.
