Zedekiah was the last King of Judah before the city of Jerusalem was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II. He took the throne after Nebuchadnezzar II removed Jeconiah. Despite having the prophet Jeremiah as his counselor, Zedekiah disregarded his advice and was known for his wicked actions. His reign started around 598 BC and concluded with the siege and downfall of Jerusalem in 587 or 586 BC.
