Darius II Ochus, also known as Darius Nothos, ruled as King of Kings of the Achaemenid Empire from 423 to 405 or 404 BC. His reign began amidst political unrest following the murder of his brother Xerxes II and subsequent rebellions. Darius II was noted to heavily rely on his wife Parysatis and was implicated in harem intrigues, as reported by Ctesias.
