Artaxerxes III

Description: (King of Persia)
Artaxerxes III, also known as Ochus, came to power within the Achaemenid Empire following personal tragedies. As a former satrap and military leader, he swiftly consolidated his rule by eliminating rival family members. He successfully reasserted Persian control over Egypt through two significant campaigns. In response to Philip II of Macedon's influence in Greece, Artaxerxes actively opposed his attempts to incite revolts. Additionally, he oversaw construction projects, including a new palace, his tomb, and the Unfinished Gate at Persepolis.
