Hayam Wuruk, a Javanese Hindu emperor, reigned over the Majapahit Empire at its peak with the support of his prime minister, Gajah Mada. His rule was marked by the influence of Hindu epics such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, as showcased through the wayang kulit tradition. He succeeded Tribhuwana Wijayatunggadewi and was eventually succeeded by his son-in-law, Wikramawardhana. The Nagarakretagama and the Pararaton offer insights into his effective leadership and administration of the empire.
