Charmaine Sheh Sze-Man is an accomplished award-winning Hong Kong actress. She has not only been successful in winning millions of hearts in her homeland with several notable TVB television series for almost two decades but has also expanded her career beyond national borders, in China. A graduate from the International Hotel Management Institute Switzerland, she took part in the 1997 Miss Hong Kong Pageant and finished as second runner-up following which she was signed under TVB, the first wireless commercial TV station in her homeland. Although initially she drew criticism for her acting skills, with time she developed and honed her skills to emerge as one of the revered actresses both in homeland and overseas. Her breakthrough came with TVB drama ‘Return of the Cuckoo’ which was followed by other notable series like ‘Beyond the Realm of Conscience’, ‘Line Walker’, ‘Can't Buy Me Love’ and ‘Maidens’ Vow’. The latter earned her Best Actress Award and My Favourite Female TV Character award at the TVB Anniversary Awards in 2006, making her the first TVB actress to earn two major awards in the same year in the event’s history. She has also featured in several films and variety shows.
