Hawick Lau is a Hong Kong actor and singer, known for his performances in many successful films and TV dramas such as ‘A Kindred Spirit’, ‘Virtues of Harmony’ and ‘My Family’. Throughout his career, he has had most success with the TVB network. He was known as one of the 5 Fresh Tigers, a group of actors that TVB decides to push ahead on the merits of their talent and hard work. He became an actor after drawing inspiration from his father Lau Dan, a seasoned actor. Hawick also tried his hand in music, but didn’t achieve much success there. In the mid-90s, he started with his acting career and made his debut in the hit sitcom ‘Kindred Spirit’, in which he made an appearance alongside his father. He then quickly signed many films and TV series, appearing mostly in supporting and minor roles. With the increasing fame and success outside the Hong Kong border, he moved out in 2005 to seek a career in Mainland China, Taiwan and Thailand. For the drama ‘A Clear Midsummer Night’, Hawick donned the hat of a producer for the first time in 2013 and struck gold with it.
