(Novelist) Lucila Gamero de Medina was a trailblazing Honduran romantic novelist, known as the first woman in Honduras to create literary works and in Central America to release novels. With a background in medicine and pharmacy, she earned a diploma in Medicine and Surgery, eventually leading a hospital and working as a health inspector in her home department. Alongside her medical pursuits, Gamero was a dedicated feminist and suffragette, contributing to the establishment of the Comité Femenino Hondureño.
