(First Lady) Francisca Aparicio de Barrios served as the First Lady of Guatemala from 1874 to 1885. After her husband's passing, she relocated to New York City, where she gained a reputation for hosting lavish events. In 1892, she remarried and moved to Europe, where she focused on her children's education. Known for her contributions to state duties and her social engagements, two paintings of her by Francisco Masriera y Manovens are housed at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
