Unas

Description: (Ninth and Last Ruler of the Fifth Dynasty of Egypt)
Unas, the ninth and final ruler of the Fifth Dynasty of Egypt, oversaw a period of economic decline and administrative decentralization during the Old Kingdom. His reign, lasting 15 to 30 years, included maintaining trade relations with the Levantine coast and Nubia, and likely participating in military actions in southern Canaan. Unas constructed a pyramid in Saqqara, featuring lavishly decorated reliefs and inscriptions of the Pyramid Texts that associated him with Ra and Osiris. His funerary cult endured from the Old Kingdom into the Middle Kingdom.
