Mercedes de Jesús Molina was a devoted missionary who dedicated herself to caring for abandoned children. She founded the Sisters of Mariana de Jesús to provide care for orphans, converts, and women coming out of prison. She also volunteered to help convert the Jivaroan peoples and eventually took vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Her institute carried on her mission of supporting those in need even after her death.
