Nycke Groot is a distinguished Dutch handball player with a successful career. She has competed for the Netherlands in several World Women's Handball Championships and two Olympic Games. Her achievements include winning a silver medal in Denmark in 2015 and a bronze in Germany in 2017. After retiring from the national team in January 2019 to concentrate on her club career, Groot surprised many by deciding to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. She eventually retired from her club career after the event.
