Adri van der Poel, a renowned Dutch cyclist, enjoyed a successful professional career from 1981 to 2000. His accomplishments included winning six classics, two Tour de France stages, and the 1996 World Cyclo-Cross Championships. Additionally, he earned a silver medal in the 1983 World Road Championships and secured five second places in the World Cyclo-Cross Championships. In honor of his remarkable achievements, the Grand Prix Adrie van der Poel was named after him.
