Johannes Jacobus Neeskens is a Dutch football manager and former player known for his role as a midfielder on the Netherlands national team during the 1974 and 1978 FIFA World Cups. He is regarded as one of the greatest midfielders in football history. Neeskens was named one of the 125 Greatest Living Footballers by FIFA in 2004 and was ranked 64th in the FourFourTwo list of the 100 all-time greatest players in 2017. After retiring in 1991, he served as an assistant manager at Barcelona and Galatasaray.
