Víctor Jesús Martínez, also known as "V-Mart," enjoyed a successful career as a professional baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB). Throughout his career, he played for the Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, and Detroit Tigers primarily as a designated hitter. Martínez was a five-time MLB All-Star and a two-time recipient of the Silver Slugger Award. He also received the Edgar Martínez Award and was the runner-up for the American League Most Valuable Player award in 2014. Upon retiring in 2018, Martínez ranked 7th among all active players in RBIs with a total of 1,178.
