Alphonse Mucha was a Czech painter, illustrator, and graphic artist celebrated for his unique Art Nouveau style. Based in Paris, he gained global recognition for his ornate theatrical posters, particularly for Sarah Bernhardt. Later in his career, he shifted his focus to creating The Slav Epic, a collection of twenty symbolist paintings portraying the history of Slavic peoples. Presented to Czechoslovakia in 1928, this series was regarded as his most significant work. Mucha's artistic contributions included illustrations, advertisements, and designs that defined the Art Nouveau era and had a lasting impact on the art world.
