(Czechoslovakian Retired Shot Putter) Remigius Machura is a retired Czech shot putter who gained recognition for his success in international competitions, including winning a bronze medal at the inaugural World Championships and a gold medal at the first World Indoor Championships. Despite initially facing a lifetime ban for using Stanozolol in 1985, which was later overturned, Machura openly acknowledged using prohibited substances throughout his athletic career. He was linked to a state-sponsored doping program in 1980s Czechoslovakia. With a personal best put of 21.93 meters, he holds the Czech record for shot put and ranks 20th in the all-time performers list.
