Description:
(Cuban Welterweight Boxer) Benny Paret, also known as Benny "Kid" Paret, was a skilled Cuban welterweight boxer who became the World Welterweight Champion twice in the early 1960s. He had 35 wins, including 10 by knockout, along with 12 losses and 3 draws. Sadly, Paret's life was cut short after sustaining injuries in a title defense fight against Emile Griffith on March 24, 1962, which was broadcast live to a large audience on ABC's Fight of the Week.
