Coloman the Learned, also known as the Book-Lover, was a King of Hungary and Croatia. Initially prepared for a church career, he later became a bishop. Upon his uncle's death, Coloman returned to Hungary and was crowned king. He faced challenges from his brother but ultimately gained control over his brother's duchy by having him and his son blinded. Coloman was well-regarded for his governance and legislative skills. His decrees on taxation, trade, and interfaith relations had a lasting impact for over a century.
