Ivan Šarić is a Croatian chess grandmaster with a successful professional career. He achieved his International Master title in 2007, followed by his Grandmaster title in 2008. Notable accomplishments include winning the Under-18 European Youth Chess Championship in 2007 and the Under-18 World Youth Chess Championship in 2008. In 2018, he emerged victorious at the European Individual Chess Championship in Batumi. Šarić has also claimed victory at the Croatian Chess Championship in 2009 and 2013, and notably defeated Magnus Carlsen at the 2014 Chess Olympiad.
