Katherine Ryan is a Canadian comedian, actress, writer and television presenter best known for her stand-up specials such as Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room and Katherine Ryan: In Trouble. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Katherine had an inclination towards comedy since her childhood years. She began performing stand-up comedy while she studied at Ryerson University. Following her college graduation, she moved to London, UK and began her full-time career as a comedian. Along with doing open mic comedy shows, she made appearances in television shows such as Video on Trial and 8 Out of 10 Cats. In addition, she also appeared as a contestant on multiple comedy panel game shows such as Bring the Noise, Safeword and Taskmaster. She is perhaps best known among the international audience for her two successful Netflix specials- Katherine Ryan: In Trouble and Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room. Her television appearances as an actress include comedy shows such as Campus, Episodes and she also served as the creator of the comedy show Duchess. She has suffered from skin cancer twice and has been successfully treated both times.
