Description:
(King of Cambodia (1806 - 1834)) Ang Chan II became the ruler of Cambodia in 1806. He formed a strategic alliance with Vietnam to strengthen his rule, which resulted in a tribute agreement and official acknowledgment from Vietnam. However, tensions with the Siamese led to his removal from power in 1811. He fled to Saigon but later returned with a Vietnamese army to regain control. Throughout his reign, Ang Chan II faced rebellions and obstacles but managed to carry out important infrastructure projects and attempted to uphold his authority until his passing in 1834.
