Chan I, also known as Chan Reachea, reigned as a prominent Cambodian king from 1516 to 1566. Initially appointed as the ouparach by Damkhat Sokonthor in 1507, he ruled over Phnom Penh and the eastern provinces. Although ousted by a pretender named Sdach Korn in 1512, Chan I returned with a Siamese army in 1516, successfully reclaiming his throne. He defended against rebellions, utilized firearms in battles, and expanded Cambodian territory by regaining Angkor and launching military offensives against Ayuttaya.
