Nanmadaw Me Nu served as the chief queen of King Bagyidaw of the Konbaung dynasty of Burma from 1819 to 1837. She held significant power, influencing both the royal court and political matters. Me Nu defied tradition by boldly sitting alongside the king on the throne. Her control over King Bagyidaw was clear as she manipulated affairs within the kingdom. Unfortunately, her reign met a tragic conclusion as she was condemned to death after a political upheaval engineered by Bagyidaw's brother.
