Bagyidaw

Description: (King)
Bagyidaw, the seventh king of the Konbaung dynasty of Burma, reigned from 1819 to 1837. His rule was marred by the First Anglo-Burmese War, during which Burma lost territories to the British. Bagyidaw's decision to allow the Burmese army to pursue rebels along vague borders ultimately favored the British in the war's outcome. Following the loss of territories and the imposed indemnity, internal rebellion arose, leading to Bagyidaw's abdication of the throne in 1837.
