Gustavo Kuerten

Gustavo "Guga" Kuerten, a former world No. 1 tennis player from Brazil, had a successful career marked by winning the French Open singles title three times and the Tennis Masters Cup in 2000. Injuries hampered his performance, leading to limited tournament appearances from 2002 to 2008. Despite enduring multiple hip surgeries and attempted comebacks, Kuerten retired from professional tennis in 2008. He was later inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2012 and served as a torchbearer for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
