(Brazilian Formula One Racing Champion in 1972 and 1974) Emerson Fittipaldi, a Brazilian former racing driver, had a successful career in both Formula One and the American CART series. He secured the Formula One World Championship twice, in 1972 with Team Lotus and in 1974 with McLaren. Fittipaldi also excelled in the American CART series, clinching the championship in 1989 and winning the prestigious Indianapolis 500 twice. Following his retirement from Indy Car racing in 1996, he occasionally raced and had a Corvette production car named after him.
